Product Info
Oh Springbank, you don't have to follow every trend. I can't find what else defines Springbank here. Instead, a sweet, almost too sweet whisky that seems designed and weakens in the finish.
This is complaining at a relatively high level, but the whisky is okay. However, I expect something different and better from Springbank.

Nose
88 88
Earthy and clayey, old leather, tobacco leaves. Seems heavy and creamy. Sherry-pickled raisins, dried figs, dates, plums and cherries. A little sparkling (no, not an alcoholic sparkle). Grated nutmeg, white pepper, oat cookies. Walnuts, pecan pie. -
Taste
87 87
With his 55%, he makes an extremely accessible start. Fat dark cherries, raisins, figs, dates, plum jam. In fact, as thick and heavy as the nose already suspected. For a Springbank it is very sweet, almost sugary. Some pepper, allspice. Toffee, cold espresso. -
Finish
86 86
In the just-medium-long finish, leather and tobacco leaves, dry wood, a touch of smoke, dried orange peel, raisins and plums. Thins out comparatively quickly.
